Each week this summer we have an 'educational' goal. This is to give us something to do during the week and on the weekends (so we don't kill each other). On Monday/Tuesday we go to the library and check out books on the chosen subject...educational and fun stories...and read them at bed time. On Thursday/Friday we have an activity like coloring/craft/movie, etc. on the subject. And on Saturday (some of them fall on the following Monday) we have the BIG activities.
So, this week was birds.
We went to the library and found several interesting books and Chad led a
paper plate craft and coloring page activity.

Here are the finished products!

Then today (Saturday) we went to Tracy Aviary in Salt Lake City.

The kids were really excited to see the big birds.

Although the biggest kick was when we went to the restrooms and saw a momma bird with her babies in a mud nest in the corner! She flew over our heads once or twice.

Then we got to attend the bird show!

An owl flew over Chad's head at the beginning and almost hit my face at the end! They had a little cuckoo bird that ran around every time someone said the word crazy.

Grey even got to be in the show! Here he is pretending to be a rain forest tree!

The elusive Chaddius Maximus!
More Birds!

It was sunny and warm but most of the park is covered in tree shade so it was
the perfect day to be out and about!
